Omnibus: Definition: With many different things: bringing many different things together as a single unit.
Encarta World English Dictionary
In addition to providing strategic advice to major media companies in the US, the UK and India, Omnibus provides strategic, business and investment development advice to female and minority owned businesses, from start-up to maturity.
Omnibus responds to a specific cultural and commercial need in the United States: the dearth of female and minority leadership in technology firms. Given that today's media world is also a "high tech" world, media and technology start-ups and mature companies need a more proportionate representation of female and minority leaders in order to appeal to the diverse cultural and commercial interests of the broadest possible audience. Omnibus works with companies that have a substantial representation of women and minority leadership amongst entrepreneurs, ownership and C-level management.
According to The New York Times, Sunday, April 18th, "Out of the Loop in Silicon Valley":
"Women own 40 percent of the private businesses in the United States, according to the Center for Women's Business Research. But they create only 8 percent of the venture-backed start-ups, according to Astia, the non-profit group that advises female entrepreneurs. That disparity reaches beyond entrepreneurs. Women account for just 6 percent of the chief executives of the top 100 tech companies, and 22 percent of the software engineers...according to the National Center for Women and Information Technology. And among venture capitalists, the population of financiers who control the purse strings for a majority of tech start-ups, just 14 percent are women, the National Venture Capital Association says. The reality is even more complex when race is factored into the mix. Small percentages of workers in information technology are African-American, Asian or Hispanic, and that number is even smaller for women."
Omnibus is a strategic advisor to female and minority-led media and technology companies on business, product and marketing strategy and execution. Omnibus prices these services on a sliding scale according to the development stage of the company as well as the size of the project, offering early-stage strategic, business and investment development advice and planning for package rates that reflect an understanding of the financial needs of young companies.
Some of the companies in our network also support female and minority-owned and managed companies by adjusting their rates on a sliding scale to take early stage needs and cash resources into account. Wingman Planning, GottesmanLLC's website design and SEO firm, is one of the Diversity Business Advantage companies in our network.
